Lab Profiles and Facilities
Both the Program of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the Institute for Advanced Study of the Communication Processes are housed within 2-1/2 floors (approximately 35,000 square feet) of Dauer Hall at the University of Florida. At present, these units occupy approximately 75 rooms, including:
16 laboratories equipped with the latest technology and instrumentation for research in the communication, speech/language, and hearing sciences
35 administrative and faculty offices
3 conference/classrooms
10 therapy/observation rooms
4 audiologic testing areas
2 reception/waiting room areas
6 storage rooms and a technical service area
In addition to the above facilities, it is noteworthy to mention that faculty from both units routinely conduct research at additional specialized laboratory sites throughout the University of Florida system (i.e., Shands Teaching Hospital and Veterans Administration Hospital).
