for Children Aged birth - 21 years
for Children Aged birth - 21 years
The University of Florida Speech and Hearing Clinic/Scottish Rite Clinic for Childhood Language Disorders has been a proud partner with the Scottish Rite Foundation of Florida since April, 2003. The Scottish Rite Foundation of Florida provides funding for children under the age of 21 years who are otherwise unable to afford speech and language therapy. Children who are eligible for free or reduced lunch in the public schools, or who are served through Children’s Medical Services, are encouraged to apply for a Scottish Rite scholarship. A small co-pay (outlined on the table below) is required of each family. The Scottish Rite scholarship funds are used to pay the remainder of the fee:
| Service | Co-pay FreeLunch |
Co-pay Reduced Lunch |
| Speech Evaluation | $28.12 | 56.25 |
| Language Evaluation | $50.00 | $100.00 |
| Reading Evaluation | $100.00 | $400.00 |
| Speech/Language Therapy | $5.00 | $10.00 |
| Reading Therapy | $10.00 | $15.00 |
Documentation of the above eligibility categories should be submitted at the time the case history form is completed and returned to the clinic. Families will be notified of their acceptance into the scholarship program when they are contacted to set up the first appointment. Any questions about this scholarship program can be directed to Betsy Vinson, M.M.Sc, CCC/SLP, the Program Director.
